DEMO AT THE ZIM EMBASSY IN PRETORIA WEDNESDAY, 29th AUGUST, 2007 09.00HRS!

On Friday, 17th August, 2007 we were supposed to have a Demo at the Zim Embassy in Pretoria.

 

When I arrived a bit earlier (at about 09.30hrs), someone at the Embassy phoned the SA Police saying I, Rev Mufaro Stig Hove, had come to bomb the Embassy and that I had threatened to do so a couple of times before.

 

Two Police vehicles then came to pick me up and I was interrogated in a very friendly and relaxed manner for a couple of hours in their Offices.

 

The Demo then did not take place!

 

But tomorrow (29th August, 2007) the Demo is on!

 

Two buses have been hired to carry people to a point near the Embassy where we will then march carrying our placards to the Embassy!

 

The march will begin at 09.00hrs and the Demo, according to the Police Clearance letter, should be over by 11.00hrs.

The bottom line is the millions back in Zimbabwe who need to get out of the furnace in which they in at the moment!

 

The bottom line is the thousands who are sleeping in the open air for months at various places in South Africa who have neither Official Documents nor any form of employment to sustain themselves.

 

The bottom line is the country of Zimbabwe where a teacher or a nurse gets the equivalent of R120 per month.

 

The bottom line is the empty hospitals where the places of Health are empty simply because there are neither medicines nor medical workers.

 

The bottom line is the Education System where there are neither books nor teachers because Mr Thabo Mbeki's South Africa is actually on a campaign to woe Zim teachers to fill its own Education System!
