PETITION DELIVERED TO THE CHANCELLOR OF WITS UNIVERSITY!

                                      FOR THE PRESS

 

PETITION TO THE CHANCELLOR (WITS UNIVERSITY) ON ZANU (PF) SONS AND DAUGHTERS STUDYING AT YOUR INSTITUTION (PRESENTED IN JOHANNESBURG ON 20 JULY 2007)

 

 

 

We the undersigned Zimbabwe Youth Movements in South Africa and individuals in solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe hereby petition the South African government through the University of Wits Chancellor to expel ZANU (PF) beneficiaries sons and daughters and relatives studying at the institution.

 

Since 1991 when the ZANU (PF) government privatized institutions of higher learning students at colleges and universities have found the going very tough for them because they are attending lectures on empty  stomach.

 

Zimbabwe Government  has complicated all educational institutions at the expense of poor Zimbabweans whilst they send their children and relatives to better educational institutions beyond Zimbabwe boarders

 

Today the military has closed the University of Zimbabwe thus denying our brothers and sisters a bright and better future

 

We demand that with immediate effect expel all Zimbabwe Government beneficiaries from your institution.

 

The is going to be a march on Friday 20^th July 2007 as from 10.00am to 2.00pm from 114 Rissik Street Braamfontein up along Smit Street into Jan Smits and people will be gathered at Station Street gate at the Wits University
